Ed Hooker

Ed practices primarily in the areas of municipal, real estate, and corporate commercial law.

As part of his municipal law practice Ed serves as Town solicitor to the Town of Tecumseh, and has acted on behalf of and advised numerous other municipalities throughout Essex County. He appears routinely in front of local committees of adjustment and municipal councils on land development matters and has appeared before numerous tribunals on behalf of municipalities and citizens, including the Ontario Municipal Board (now the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal), the Environmental Appeals Board, the Board of Negotiation for expropriations, and the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Appeal Tribunal.

In real estate, Ed acts for clients on the purchase, sale, leasing, and financing of properties and has extensive experience acting for borrowers and lenders in private mortgage financing. In his corporate commercial practice Ed has acted on the incorporation, purchase, and sale of a wide variety of businesses and assisted with tax planning and business reorganization.

He currently sits on a number of Boards of Directors including the Local Mediation Committee for the Windsor area and is a Past President for the Windsor/Essex Victorian Order of Nurses Endowment Foundation and has served as legal counsel to several religious organizations within Windsor and Essex County.
